Description

Beautiful 1/2 bed, 1 bath apartment with large roof terrace and views over the town and towards Arcos Lake 45 mins from the coast

Apartment Fatima is a lovely 1st floor apartment set in the historic centre of Arcos de la Frontera. Many restaurants, shops and bars are close-by along with the beautiful historic buildings located in the cobbled streets of the old town.

Originally part of a larger traditional patio house, the apartment has been restored to retain many of the original features to include large balcony-style full length windows with shutters, beautiful tiled floors, beamed ceilings and arches.

The property is nicely presented throughout and a brief walk-through description is as follows:

Entrance from the cobbled street up a flight of stairs to the front communal entrance to the building. Upon entry, the good sized communal patio is in front of you. Stairs to the left lead up to the main private entrance into the apartment. There is a good sized storage cupboard under the stairs belonging to the apartment.

Once inside you enter into the main hallway with a door leading to the left into the large open-plan living/dining area with feature arches, log burning stove and beautiful full-height balcony windows overlooking the street. Continuing through folding wooden doors you pass into the main bedroom also with a lovely balcony style full height window and feature arches, mirroring the living room.

Returning to the hallway, you pass through to the country-style traditional wooden kitchen with untils, porcelain sink and space for a fridge/freezer plus built-in oven and hob.

Stairs lead up from the kitchen to the family bathroom with concrete shower, built-in basin and WC, all surrounded by modern white subway-style tiles. A light portal floods the space with light from above.

Continuing past the family bathroom leads to the potential 2nd single bedroom or 2nd sitting-room/dining area. There is a built-in seat which doubles up as a single bed if preferred.

Wooden doors open to the outside and to the stairs leading up to the extensive private roof-terrace, approximately 40sqm. From here you can see over the town, down the street and across the surrounding countryside.

About the area: Arcos de la Frontera

Arcos de la Frontera is one of the largest inland hilltop white towns (Pueblos Blancos) in the Province of Cadiz. It stands proud perched on the edge of huge sand stone cliffs and its history dates right back to Neolithic times when man lived in caves. As with many of these pretty villages, Arcos evidences much unrest in its history, changing hands through the centuries including the Arabs, Romans and the Moors. This has resulted in a beautiful tapestry of cultures woven into the very fabric of its cool, character filled narrow streets and many historic buildings in and around the old city walls.

Arcos de la Frontera is most famous for its imposing Gothic Cathedral, built by Alfonso the Wise back in the late 13th century to mark his victory over the Moors and the restoration of the Christian faith within the town.

Today you will find a busy, thriving town full of shops, great restaurants and bars knitting together the old with the new. The picturesque Arcos Lake is at the foot of the town and attracts many cyclists wanting to enjoy a gentle ride around its perimeter and observe the wonderful flowers, trees and multitude of wildlife found on and around its banks. Arcos is approximately 40 minutes from the coast and its award winning beaches stretching from the City of Cadiz all the way to Gibraltar. Further inland there are the wild and wonderful nature reserves with their character cork trees and rustic shrub land great for walking amongst the wildlife.

Whether you are looking for a permanant residence or holiday destination Arcos de la Frontera has plenty to offer as a quality inland destination.
